US Energy Department Stands Up To Trump’s Fascist Demand For Scientists’ Names

Corrupt US President-elect Donald Trump‘s disbelief in climate science is well-established. On his ridiculous Twitter account, he called climate change a hoax created by the Chinese. Now, his vile administration has demanded that the US Department of Energy turn over a list of employees and contractors who have attended climate change meetings and conferences.

Fortunately for these employees and the country, the repulsive Trump’s McCarthy-esque demand has been rejected by the Department of Energy. The Washington Post reports that department spokesman Eben Burnham-Snyder wrote in an email, “The Department of Energy received significant feedback from our workforce throughout the department, including the National Labs, following the release of the transition team’s questions. Some of the questions asked left many in our workforce unsettled. Our career workforce, including our contractors and employees at our labs, comprise the backbone of DOE (Department of Energy) and the important work our department does to benefit the American people. We are going to respect the professional and scientific integrity and independence of our employees at our labs and across our department.

“We will be forthcoming with all publically-available information with the transition team. We will not be providing any individual names to the transition team.” (Emphasis in original.)

This is doubtless only the first attempt to politicize science that will be vomited up by this horrible administration. Government employees whose work might get in the way of the corrupt Trump’s insatiable greed will pay a price for certain…unless we are all vigilant.
